Thursday June 29th the CKF Construction Super Late Model Series invaded the ever so tough Southern National Motorsports Park. Rex Hoyle would set fast time in qualifying earning the pole with a time of 13.568 seconds. Jake Watson would set the outside pole. On the start it was Watson jumping to the outside off turn 2 and grabbing the lead from Hoyle sliding him to second. Tucker Minter would slide into third in front of of AJ Hamel and Kyle Charpenteir. The first yellow would fly when quarters got to tight at the front of the field and the 10 of Minter would go for a spin collecting Charpenteir, Hamel, MacDuff and Naslund slowing the field for the first time. On the restart Watson would have a new dancing partner of the 96 of Al Smith Jr. The race would go green for a long time and Smith Jr was applying major pressure when the yellow would fly again for the spinning 12 of Brian Rogers Jr. On the last restart it was Watson who had saved the most tire and drive away from Smith Jr and the rest of the field to pick up his 3rd career win. Smith Jr was 2nd followed by Tucker Minter, Rex Hoyle and Grey Files. The series is off this coming week then its the final 2 races of the season which will be Martinsville which will be a guaranteed starting spot for the September 27-28th Late Model Nationals Super Late portion.
