Last Thursday night saw the URL White Knuckle Clothing Inc. Pro Late Model Series head to the Oxford Plains Speedway for the Les Enterprises MP Roy Inc. 150. Entering the second race of the Chase, Matt Kocher and Stefan Marinak were tied for the lead in the Art’s Barber Shop Points Standings. Matt Kocher would take down the Rumar Vinyl Speed Demon Pole Award and would have last season’s champion Nicklas Rasmussen starting alongside him.
The entire race would see little challenges for Kocher and Rasmussen. In the early going, an outside second row starting spot would see co-point leader Stefan Marinak slide into the back half of the top ten as Kocher led. Kocher would keep the pressure on Marinak to improve his running position all race long, as he would lead every lap en route to his series high sixth victory. Stefan Marinak would charge late, but Rasmussen would hold him off to finish second. Marinak would have to settle for third, followed by Shawn Cool and AJ Hamel in the top five. Matt Kocher was the Joker eSport Squeaky Clean Driver of the Race Award Winner. Dan Dubuque was the Team Bushfink Racing Hard Charger Award Winner by virtue of going from 12th to 7th.
With three races remaining, Matt Kocher leads Stefan Marinak by five points in the Art’s Barber Shop Points Standings. Defending champion Nicklas Rasmussen is in third, fourteen points back. In the Brian Rogers Motorsports Slammin’ the Dew Rookie of the Year Points Standings, Scott Naslund is clinging to a one point lead over Matt Kocher.
Next week, the series heads to the Southern National Motorsports Park for the Brian Rogers Motorsports 150. Coverage begins Thursday night at 9:30 PM EST on LSRTV.
