The Thompson Speedway played host of race three of the CKF Construction Upstate Racing League Fall Approval Series last night with twenty-two cars signing in for action. Brian Rogers Jr would start from the pole with the Green Mountain Madman AJ Hamel starting alongside. On the initial start Rogers was not able to hold off Hamel, who started the race in the preferred lane. From there is was all the Madman, as he was able to successfully drive away from numerous competitors on the race’s ten restarts!
Hamel would lead wire to wire to grab a big win in his effort to win the Fall Approval Series! With point leader coming into the night Jake Watson missing last night’s race, Hamel now has a seventeen point lead over second place Dylan Prostler. The Upstate Outlaw Alex Orians drove a great race to finish second, followed by Dylan Prostler on the podium.
Next week, the Approval Series heads to the Richmond International Raceway for the Richmond 81! The URL is back in action Sunday night with the URL vs. JSRL Sprint Car Series USA 25 at USA International (Dirt). As always, stayed tuned to the site and the Facebook page for all news and updates regarding the league.
