If anyone thought Justin Fuller was done dominating this season, they were wrong! Race number 6 of the Upstate Racing League Les Enterprises MP Roy Inc. Pro Late Model Series rolled into the Irwindale Speedway for the Atomic Signworks 127. The action would be crazy from the very get go, as NHR Pole Award winner Shawn Cool was sent spinning off of turn 2 after contact from the number 16 machine of Dale O’Neil on the very 1st lap. The race was highly competitive, as it saw drivers utilizing every single inch of racetrack to try and gain an advantage over those in front. It was a classic showdown up front for most of the race, with 3 time Series Champion and now current high point man Justin Fuller battling door-to-door with 2014-2015 Series Champion Brandon Oddo. Oddo would fade late, and the HAAG TV Hard Charger Award winner Stefan Marinak (22nd to 2nd) would be right behind Fuller in the closing stages. Marinak would not have enough to out duel Fuller, and with the win Fuller is now batting .500 after grabbing his 3rd win in 6 races this season. Fuller was followed by Marinak in 2nd, Nicklas Rasmussen in 3rd, Brandon Oddo in 4th, and Erik Haag in the 5th position. By virtue of his 8th place finish, Eric Stehney was the Nein Shiza Autosport Rookie of the Race.
With 5 races to go before the Chase, Justin Fuller is the points leader followed by Nicklas Rasmussen (-1), Stefan Marinak (-34), Jason Stehney (R)(-38), and Brandon Oddo (-42) in the top 5. The final Chase spot currently belongs to Dale O’Neil in the 12th position, and he is tied with 13th place Justin MacDuff with 180 points. The Nein Shiza Autosport Rookie of the Year standings currently show Jason Stehney leading followed by Guillaume Fortin (-11), and Jay Dee Callahan (-17) in the top 3. It certainly looks like every point will count in the stretch before the Chase this season!
