Thursday August 4th was the season opener at Iowa Speedway for the CKF Construction Approval Series. A total of 30 drivers would sign in with hopes of winning the season opener. Upstate Racing League’s three time champion Justin Fuller would set the fastest time and would start pole with a time of 23.954 just .040 seconds in front of James Curl. The start of the race would be wild with Fuller jumping out to the early lead leaving the three and four wide battles behind him. The race would see a shootout at the end which saw Curl, Kyle Barnes, and Jake Watson dueling it out for the win. In the end a yellow would end the race allowing Curl to hold off Barnes, who started 25th, and Jake Watson finished 3rd.
Next week the series heads to Myrtle Beach Speedway for 125 laps of action.
